Some Other Cup

I knew I had to do a nice job on this so I painted it on the back of a Trader Joe's frozen pizza box. Well, not the back exactly but the inside. I cut it out real nice too. The fluid acrylics just slid around all over the place and I did too. Who needs Dali's clock when you can sit right down and distort a coffee mug? And, as I've been telling you--someone actually liked this. Now I learn that there's a holiday marketplace for small cheap original works in my town. If I can get into this event it will be a true sociological experiment. I'm going to try and pay people to take this stuff away. No one ever claimed that I'm not willing to humiliate myself. If anyone actually buys any of this I'm going to start painting Elvis on velvet. As Richard Feyman famously wrote: "There's plenty of room at the bottom".

Who Knows What This Was Supposed to Be?

Yet another entry in The Terrible Twenty. They just seem to keep on a comin', which is a complete lie since I painted this terrible thing a while ago. I'm finding out about a strange thing. There is hardly a painting among the Terrible Twenty that someone doesn't like. I mean actually like! No one likes that one in the last post. I can only suppose that my friends are demented. Interestingly, they are all differently demented. Anyway, I am doomed to keep on painting awful things until I fulfil my obligation to produce all twenty paintings. I guess it has to be done by the end of 2010. After that I will suddenly be able to paint like Rembrandt or even that guy down the street whose stuff look pretty good. I know I'm destined for greatness on account of I have a Joey Ramone Action Figure. Really. Go figure.
